The best styles from the MET Gala themed ‘OCEANS’8 Premiere held in Lagos state

So it might interest you to know that foreign movie premiere’s are really becoming a big deal in Nigeria and it’s no surprise that the Oceans 8 premiered over the weekend. But the theme though? Seems to be raising eyebrows. I know we all recall the controversy that came with the 2018 MET GALA, right? Well, it was because it was themed “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”.

Many MET Gala themes are almost always controversial and this year’s was no different.Β The Oceans 8 Lagos premiere theme was MET gala, which means it was an array of the interpretation of the MET gala themes over the years. In other words, you could choose from all of their historical themes and when I tell you some of your faves came through, you best believe it. We have to give props to our Nigerian celebrities as they came out in jaw-dropping interpretations, it really was quite amazing and impressive.

Celebrities whose styles were worthy and essentially had us drooling include; Kate Henshaw, Omoni Oboli, Juliet Ibraihim, Ini dima-Okojie, Nowe Alexis Isibor, Jemima Osunde, Linda Osifo, Adunni Ade, Shaffy Bello, Omawummi Akinnifesi, Waje Iruobe, Osas Ajibade, Toke Makinwa, Vimbai Mutinhiri, Bolaji Ayinde, Mimi Onalaja, Tracy Nwapa and too many others.

  1. Lovely creative outfits and great post but to be honest, I don’t get this.
    How do you red-carpet premiere a foreign movie, especially when no single member of the movie cast is in attendance? Worse, it was a sub-par movie.
    If was done for : Black Panther or Rampage I might have been able to see the connection.
    But this?

    1. Thanks for the comment. I thought the same thing about the whole idea behind holding a movie premiere, without any member of the cast or crew in attendance, and making a fuzz about it. It didn’t add up to me. However I didn’t think the movie was that “sub-par” bad though.
