6 WAYS TO COMBINE ANKARA WITH PLAIN FABRICS

As the saying goes, “fashion comes and goes but it can never die“. There used to be a time when wedges, palazzos and boot-cut trousers were once out of fashion but after a good series of new looks arrived, they bounced back and became trendy.

This is the same for ankara. It has become trendy. It has taken over the fashion world and it is fabulous. Ankara prints have evolved from being a fashion statement in the continent to being a trend all over the world.

Enough being said, one of the latest trends is the plain and patterned ankara designs. Here are 6 plain and pattern designs to help you inspire you:

1. A blue plain and patterned brown ankara fabric styled into a dress shirt.

 2. A blue patterned and plain purple ankara fabric styled into a sleeveless fit and flare dress.

3. Contrasting kente prints and black fabric styled into a two piece set; crop top and short skirt with front slit and orange block heels.

4. Mother and son in a two piece set, shirt and trouser;plain black and multicoloured ghanaian print.

5. Blue plain and the famous ‘star’ ankara in yellow styled into a beautiful mini dress and worn on a blue pump to match the plain.

6. A simple sleeveless dress styled with a plain black and very small ankara material.

Well, these 6 styles are very simple and elegant. How do you style your plain with patterned ankara fabric? Share with us via our comment section.

  1. Quite inspiring, little or no reasons to shy away from Ankara materials anymore..it’s all about putting them out rightly (something i’ll have to really brood on). Thanks for this!
